ArtsyGeeksy is home to a delightfully unruly collection of creative projects involving art, music, food, gaming, history, science, storytelling, and the occasional rabbit hole of magnificant proportions.

We love working with people and organizations who share our curiosity, creativity, sense of humor, and desire to make thoughtful things for thoughtful people.

If you have an idea that feels like it belongs somewhere in the ArtsyGeeksy universe, we would be happy to hear about it.

The ArtsyGeeksy Family

Partnerships may involve one or more of our creative projects:

  • ArtsyGeeksy Store: original art, apparel, greeting cards, gifts, books, downloads, and other creative merchandise
  • Justin Towson Music: classical piano recordings, music history, composer biographies, playlists, and accessible music education
  • Roll Model Gaming: tabletop roleplaying resources, world-building, adventures, gaming commentary, and tools for players and Game Masters
  • EatsyGeeksy: recipes, food history, ingredients, kitchen experiments, cooking culture, and the forces shaping how we eat
  • Æthenæum: astronomy, calendars, history, mythology, culture, time, and humanity’s relationship with the sky

A project does not need to fit neatly into only one category. Very little around here does.

Sponsorships and Brand Partnerships

We welcome inquiries about paid partnerships with brands, businesses, publishers, creators, cultural organizations, and other groups whose work genuinely fits our interests and audience.

Possible partnerships may include:

  • Sponsored articles or recipes
  • Sponsored social-media content
  • Product features
  • Newsletter sponsorships
  • Giveaways
  • Campaign photography or artwork
  • Music, gaming, food, book, or educational partnerships
  • Seasonal or themed campaigns

We are especially interested in working with organizations connected to:

  • Tabletop gaming and geek culture

We only accept partnerships that make sense for ArtsyGeeksy and that we can discuss honestly. Payment does not purchase a predetermined opinion, miraculous enthusiasm, or the sudden discovery that a terrible product has hidden depths.

Sponsored or compensated work will be clearly identified in accordance with applicable rules and platform requirements.

Creative Collaborations

We enjoy projects that combine talents, disciplines, and perspectives.

We are open to discussing:

  • Guest articles or creative exchanges
  • Collaborative artwork or product collections
  • Music and visual-art projects
  • Recipe collaborations
  • Interviews and conversations
  • Gaming adventures, settings, maps, and world-building projects
  • Historical, scientific, or cultural features

  • Podcasts, videos, livestreams, or other multimedia work
  • Strange but compelling ideas that do not fit comfortably into a bullet point

We care more about whether a collaboration is thoughtful and interesting than whether it arrives with a giant audience attached.

That said, a collaboration should benefit everyone involved. We generally do not participate in arrangements where one party provides all the research, writing, art, production, promotion, and emotional support while the other contributes a logo and the word “exposure.”

Licensing, Commissions, and Custom Work

We are available to discuss licensing and commissioned uses of selected work.

This may include:

  • Licensing original artwork or designs
  • Licensing Justin Towson’s music recordings
  • Custom illustrations or graphics
  • Custom merchandise designs
  • Article or recipe development
  • Writing, editing, or research projects
  • Gaming content, maps, creatures, adventures, or setting material
  • Music-related writing and educational content
  • Photography or visual assets
  • Classroom, organizational, publishing, or commercial licenses
  • Adaptation of existing ArtsyGeeksy material for an approved project

Availability depends on the project, schedule, budget, rights involved, and whether the assignment inspires curiosity or merely makes one of us stare silently at the wall.

Please include as much detail as possible when requesting a quote.

Product Reviews and Samples

We are open to receiving pitches for products, books, games, music, ingredients, equipment, creative tools, and other items relevant to our work.

However:

  • Sending a product does not guarantee coverage
  • Sending a product does not guarantee a positive review
  • We do not return unsolicited products unless arrangements are made in advance
  • We will disclose when an item was provided free of charge
  • We will not make claims we cannot support
  • We will not conceal material flaws in exchange for compensation or future access
  • We may choose not to publish anything if the product is not a good fit or we do not have enough useful things to say about it

Please contact us before shipping anything. Packages that arrive without warning may be delayed, misdirected, or mistaken for an offering to the household cats.

Media and Interview Requests

We welcome relevant requests for interviews, commentary, background information, images, or participation in articles, podcasts, broadcasts, videos, and other media.

Topics we may be able to discuss include:

  • Independent creative businesses
  • Classical music and accessible music education
  • Composer history and musical storytelling
  • Food, recipes, and food culture
  • Art, design, and creative process
  • Tabletop gaming and world-building
  • Astronomy, calendars, mythology, and cultural history
  • Building interconnected creative projects
  • Working as a creative partnership
  • The triumphs and absurdities of having far too many interests

Please include the outlet, subject, format, deadline, expected time commitment, and whether the interview will be recorded or published in full.

What We Are Not Looking For

To save everyone time, we are generally not interested in:

  • Unpaid advertising presented as a collaboration
  • Generic guest posts written primarily to place backlinks
  • Mass-produced articles unrelated to our work
  • Requests to republish our content without a license
  • Products or services that conflict with our values
  • Gambling, tobacco, vaping, recreational drugs, weapons, deceptive financial products, or exploitative businesses
  • Miracle cures, unsupported health claims, or aggressively marketed supplements
  • Political partnerships that promote bigotry, dehumanization, discrimination, or attacks on fundamental rights
  • Requests for undisclosed sponsorships or misleading endorsements
  • Pay-to-review arrangements requiring a guaranteed positive result
  • Pitches beginning with “Dear Website Owner” that immediately promise to increase our domain authority by 900 percent

We reserve the right to decline any project for any reason, including lack of time, poor fit, rights concerns, budget, conflicting commitments, or an ominous disturbance in the creative Force.

What to Include in Your Pitch

A useful inquiry should include:

  • Your name and organization
  • Your website or relevant social links
  • The ArtsyGeeksy project you are contacting
  • A clear description of your idea
  • Why you believe it is a good fit
  • The proposed deliverables
  • Your expected timeline
  • The intended audience and platforms
  • The available budget or compensation
  • Any usage, licensing, exclusivity, or approval requirements
  • Whether products, travel, equipment, or other resources are involved

Please do not make us complete a forty-question application before revealing that the proposed budget is a coupon and three enthusiastic reposts.
